Which one should you visit?
- If you are short on time: TOKYO Station, OSAKA UMEDA, SAPPORO PARCO and FUKUOKA PARCO are inside or connected to a station you may already use.
- If you also want ramen: Ikebukuro, Tokyo (Tokyo) and Shinsaibashi, Osaka (Osaka) each have a Chiikawa Land shop and a Ramen Buta in the same PARCO.
- If you want a sightseeing day: the Mogumogu Honpo shops sit on famous old streets in Fushimi, Kyoto (Kyoto), Kawagoe (Saitama) and Otaru (Hokkaido).
Chiikawa Ramen Buta
Chiikawa Ramen Buta is a ramen restaurant based on the "talked-about ramen shop" in the Chiikawa story, run by PARCO. Ramen comes in three sizes, Mini, Small and Large, and the SHIBUYA PARCO page lists them from 1,540 yen to 1,980 yen. The PARCO CAFE shop list shows three restaurants open in Japan, each for a limited time with no end date announced yet:
| Restaurant | Where | Getting there |
|---|---|---|
| Ramen Buta SHIBUYA PARCO | Shibuya (Tokyo), PARCO B1F | Near Shibuya Station (PARCO's map) |
| Ramen Buta IKEBUKURO PARCO | Ikebukuro, Tokyo (Tokyo), PARCO main building 8F | By the East Exit of Ikebukuro Station (PARCO's map) |
| Ramen Buta SHINSAIBASHI PARCO | Shinsaibashi, Osaka (Osaka), PARCO B2F | Next to Shinsaibashi Station (PARCO's map) |
How to get a seat, from the SHIBUYA PARCO reservation page:
- Advance booking comes first. The restaurant gives out free "queue tickets" on LivePocket, first come, until two days before each date. You may still get in without one when it isn't crowded; the restaurant posts the day's situation on X. At IKEBUKURO PARCO, booking has priority from 11:00 to 14:00.
- One ticket per person. Children of primary school age and older need their own ticket; preschool children can come in with a parent without one. The ticket gives you a time to join the queue, not an exact seating time.
- Signing up needs a phone. LivePocket asks you to register and verify a mobile phone number before you book, and you show the QR ticket on your phone or on paper.
- Goods are for diners only. The original goods, such as the bowls used in the restaurant, are sold only to people who eat there, and buying for resale is refused.
- Short stays when busy. Seats are limited to about 45 minutes from your order when the restaurant is crowded.
Chiikawa Mogumogu Honpo
Mogumogu Honpo is a Chiikawa shop run by Terakoya, set on old sightseeing streets. Its official site lists three shops, each with goods you can only buy there:
- Fushimi shop: Fushimi, Kyoto (Kyoto), on the approach to Fushimi Inari Taisha. About 5 min on foot from JR Inari Station, or 10 min from Keihan Fushimi-Inari Station.
- Kawagoe shop: Kawagoe (Saitama), on Kashiya Yokocho, the old candy street. About 20 min on foot from Hon-Kawagoe Station, or take a bus from Kawagoe Station to Fudanotsuji and walk 2 min.
- Otaru shop: Otaru (Hokkaido), on Sakaimachi-dori. About 8 min on foot from Minami-Otaru Station. Chiikawa Baby Castella, a takeout shop selling small sponge cakes baked in the shop, has the same address.
The shops normally let people in as they arrive, but they may limit entry or hand out numbered tickets on busy days and announce advance booking on X. For example, for October 10 to 12, 2026, the Fushimi shop used all-day entry booking through its LINE account from 8 p.m. the day before. You had to apply within 30 km of the shop with location turned on, enter once per day, and show the ticket on the same phone (screenshots weren't accepted).
Busy days: how entry tickets work
Chiikawa Land shops also use timed entry when big crowds are expected. For example, for March 7 to 10, 2025, the OSAKA UMEDA shop took entry applications by lottery through LINE: one application per person per day, tickets that couldn't be passed to anyone else, and a ticket valid for 1 hour. Every operator says the same thing: a ticket lets you in, but it doesn't promise you can buy a given item. Check the shop's page and its X account a few days before you go, especially around new releases and holidays.
Recent changes to check
- New Chiikawa Land shops: KANAZAWA FORUS opened on November 21, 2025, IKEBUKURO PARCO on April 3, 2026, and KOSHIGAYA LAKETOWN on June 19, 2026.
- Ramen Buta closings: the HIROSHIMA PARCO restaurant closed on August 16, 2026, and the NAGOYA PARCO restaurant on October 4, 2026. The Chiikawa Land shops in both PARCO buildings are still on the official list.
- SHIBUYA PARCO reopened: Ramen Buta at SHIBUYA PARCO closed in May 2025 and reopened on the same B1F on September 19, 2025.
Shopping tips
- Purchase limits: some items have a limit per person, and the official notices say a shop may change the limit depending on how busy it is.
- Tax-free: the official Chiikawa pages don't say which shops offer tax-free shopping. Ask at the counter, and see the new tax-free refund from November 1, 2026.
- Online: Chiikawa Market, the official online shop, says it is for customers living in Japan. Orders from abroad go through Global-e, only to the countries listed at checkout, and customs duties may apply. If you see something you love in a shop, buying it in Japan is the simplest plan.
Avoiding fakes and fake accounts
Character goods are often copied, so buy at the official shops above, at the stores on the official list, or on Chiikawa Market. Unofficial "bargains" from unknown sellers may be fakes. In December 2025 Chiikawa Market also warned about fake accounts that copy its logo and send "you won a campaign" messages with links. The official accounts are @chiikawa_market on X and Instagram, @chiikawa_market_tiktok on TikTok and @198xtogr on LINE; don't click links in messages from other accounts.
